From Farming to First Aid: Kate’s Journey

Somehow my life segued off my original path.

Initially I was a teacher, then travelled the world as crew on super yachts, then worked on The ITM Fishing Show for many years.

And then I married a farmer and now we have 3 sons. 

Not the life I once imagined for myself!

However, I've always believed in being prepared, even more so since becoming a farmer and a mother.

Life on the farm and raising a family both demand a high level of readiness for any situation. 

This belief, coupled with my firsthand experiences, meant that when Amber approached me with her idea about starting our own first aid kit company, I very quickly said "let's do it".

Living on a farm, every day brings new challenges and adventures.
From tending to livestock and managing the farm and staff, to raising children and maintaining a household, my days are filled with activities that require vigilance and quick thinking.

Whether it’s a scrape from a fall, a sting from an insect, or a more serious injury from farm equipment, being prepared for emergencies is non-negotiable, especially as we live rurally.

You'd be surprised just how often we reach for our first aid kit.

Over the years, I’d put together makeshift kits that included everything from band-aids to antiseptic wipes, yet I always felt they were lacking something.
They were either not comprehensive enough or the items inside were of subpar quality.

We realized there was a gap in the market for comprehensive, user-friendly first aid kits designed for families, and rural and outdoor lifestyles.

Starting Parachute First Aid wasn’t just about creating a product to sell.

We knew what families, especially those living active, sometimes rugged lives, needed.

I wanted to provide peace of mind, knowing that if an accident happened, they’d have the best tools at their disposal. 

As a mother, I understand the need to protect and care for our loved ones. 

As a farmer, I know the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. 

Our first aid kits are a reflection of these experiences and values.

Through Parachute First Aid, we aim to empower families, farmers, hunters, adventurers, and anyone who values preparedness.

We want every customer to feel the same sense of security we feel, knowing they have a comprehensive first aid kit ready for any situation.
It’s about providing a tool that helps people take control of emergencies and care for their loved ones with confidence.
